Pauline Willemse

Hi, I’m Pauline. When I have the honor of supporting your family as a birth doula, postpartum doula, or grief & loss doula, I will do so with warmth, care, gentleness, and intuitive motherly wisdom. All carried by knowledge, experience, and a touch of courage.

My passion for healthcare has been a common thread throughout my life. In 2013, while living and working in Tanzania as a physiotherapist, I was given the opportunity to assist in midwifery at a local hospital. That experience sparked my love for birth care.

The birth of my eldest son in 2018, my experience with postpartum depression, and my journey as a single mother inspired me to dedicate myself to women, young mothers, and families. My own birth journey taught me how vulnerable and powerful birth can be. From my first experience, where I lost my sense of control to medical staff, to the magic of my second birth at home.

A seed that was planted in 2022 during my journey through Asia with my son Brent slowly grew into Wereldmama. Through my own path into motherhood, I discovered how big the gap can sometimes be when it comes to finding the right support and loving caregivers. That made me realize: it can be different, warmer, softer, and more human.

Together, in connection with yourself and your birth partner – with confidence, resilience, and courage – I want to guide you towards a beautiful birth experience and the best start to your first 1000 days. At Wereldmama, you are welcome, loved, and supported.

Wereldmama is a certified doula, and a member of the NBvD (Dutch Association for Doulas).
