Birth doula: Are you looking for a no-nonsense doula who assists you during pregnancy and childbirth with mental support and loving guidance? Someone with who you build a relationship of trust and who knows exactly what your preferences, wishes, insecurities and fears are? A doula who teaches you to direct your birth process and who involves your (birth) partner in the entire process? Then I might be the doula that suits you!

My name is Miriam Mengerink and I live in Heiloo with my husband and children. As a doula and a mother of three, I know that every birth is unique. I have always been interested in pregnancy and childbirth. My own pregnancy and childbirth experiences added to that, made sure that I started the Birth Doula training at the Doula Academy.

People around me describe my character as: warm, loving, caring and committed.Wanting to help, guide, coach, give loving attention and encourage are the foundations of my work. I use these qualities to help my clients get the best out of themselves and their childbirth.

Postpartum doula: As a postpartum doula, I find it important that you, as a new mother, take the time to recover and bond with your baby. Are you feeling the need for additional care during your postpartum period? For instance, if you’ve had a cesarean section, you may be facing a longer recovery. Or perhaps you spent some time in the hospital after giving birth and therefore no longer qualify for regular maternity care. As a postpartum doula, I support you in promoting your recovery, bonding with your baby, and assisting with (breast)feeding.

I describe myself as a family doula: I am primarily here for you as the new mother, but I also understand the importance of involving the family in welcoming the baby. The arrival of a baby can be quite an adjustment for toddlers and young children. With my educational background, I help your children find their new role as they adjust to the baby’s arrival.
